I had the opportunity to go to Time Out for Women with a few of my friends, and it was lovely! It was SUCH a nice break away from life and the world. It was a great time to recharge my batteries and get some great words of advice from alot of wonderful speakers. I have been having a really hard time lately being happy and upbeat and alright with my life. Don't get me wrong- I have a great life! But it is SO busy! Cole is really busy with work, and church and the kids are busy with school, sports and everything else- and it seems (I know every mother feels this way!) that I am letting myself slip a little bit- and that I don't get to do many of the things that I would like to. So it was SO nice to get a way even if just for a few hours to recharge my batteries a bit. I'm so grateful to Cole for watching the kids on Friday night! We had our schedules a bit mixed up, and Cole had forgotten the time of his training with Elder Bednar on Saturday, so we got a babysitter for Saturday! I took Stockton with me, which was just fine- because he is an angel baby! He really was so great! What a great baby. Love that kid!
anyway....the speakers were all FABULOUS! Friday night was great. We had the opportunity to hear Sheri Dew speak and she is ALWAYS wonderful. So inspiring and wonderful. Jennie Oaks Baker also was the performer and she was PHENOMENAL! I have never really listened to her music that much, but I thought that it was so beautiful. It was neat to hear and see her kind of double personality! She was HILARIOUS when she was talking, but then switched into this professional maniac on the violin when she would perform. It was so great. Julie deAzavedo Hanks also talked, and it was so wonderful as well. All of the performers/speakers were so great- both days! On Saturday, we listened to- Oh, now I can't remember his name!- Brian something I think. He's the man whose family (4 of them) were killed in a car accident by a drunk driver and forgave this young man, and how he has moved on with his life. It was so awesome. There were also a few others that spoke that I-regrettably- can't remember their names. I do remember that the Our Best Bites girls spoke- and they were so hilarious and witty. Also, Mercy River were the performers. I have to admit, I don't love Mercy River usually, but they were so great at the conference. It is always fun to hear peoples personal stories as they perform and things. It was wonderful. I am SOOOOO glad that I was able to go! I was rejuvenated, and happy, and excited to get back to life, and my kids, and all my other responsibilities. Yeah for Time Outs!
