Happy Birthday Lincoln!!!

What! My baby turned THREE! I am not NEAR old enough to have a 3 year old! Nonetheless, Lincoln turned three on the 16th of February. We had a fantastic day, and he loved it all! For breakfast Cole, Payton and I snuck into his room with his favorite- cheerios with bananas in it! He thought it was pretty cool that we were bringing food into his room! Then he opened his gifts from us- well one of them, and loved it! It was a scrapbook that I made for him with pictures of him and everyone- well almost everyone- that he loves, and he thought it was great!
Then, of course, for lunch he had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut into BIG triangles- per his request! He didn't even have to take a nap for the big day! Then, for dinner, we had a big old pot of macaroni and cheese. Talk about a healthy eating day! :) Then, after dinner, we were able to open up ALL of his presents together, and he had a BLAST! He got his favorite- books- complete with the teeny tiny set of scriptures that he told us he wanted, and some Thomas books. He was in heaven! Then, after he read those for a little while, we snuck out to the garage where he revealed a new BIKE! He had a blast riding that around, and is getting quite proficient! What a stud. He absolutely LOVES to wear his helmet. When he is done with his ride, he will park his bike, and wear his helmet for another half hour or so, just to be safe.

Lincoln on his new ride! What a cutie. He was trying to ride in his SNOW BOOTS and to boot, they were on the wrong feet! But he sure was givin it the old college try! He's much better with tennis shoes on.
The coveted Thomas Book! We're never without it now.
Good Morning Sunshines!
Thanks for the great reaction to the scrapbook that I made you bud! That's what it's all about!
So that was the big day, but then the next day, we had a fun party with his friends. He requested a CARS party and boy did we have a fun time! Cole spent quite a few hours making some really cute cars for the kids to paint, and they had a great time! Paint was everywhere! Then, the kids were playing with cars and racing them around the family room and everything. Then, of course, we busted out the CAKE! Lincoln requested a Lightning McQueen cake, and I have to say, I really delivered! We did McQueen cake and Tire Cupcakes. It was a blast. Then, we opened presents and Lincoln and all the kids had a great time! Thanks everyone for making Lincoln's birthday such a special one for him! He really appreciates it! Believe me, he told me:)
The attempt at a group shot...missing about 3 kids, but what can you do!
The masterpiece-plus it was pretty yummy!!! Thanks Laura for the mold.:)
Shot of the cool cars that Cole MADE! That's right, me MADE them! What a woodworker I'll tell ya!
Lincoln painting his car...RED of course- like lightning!
Things I love about my Lincoln:
1-He acts JUST like me...seriously, it's scary!
2- I LOVE his cute little smile. It melts my heart!
3- I love the way he takes control of the situation-man after my own heart!
4- The way he tries to sneak things when I tell him not to.
5- The way he treats his brother-most of the time!
6-The funny things that he says! Something new every time I turn around!
7- I love the way his face turns and contorts when he is trying to explain something. Even better is when he is trying to talk either Cole or I into something, he acts like it's no big deal and even talks like us when we try to talk HIM into something! Smart guy!
8- When he comes to snuggle with us during the middle of the night/morning when he wakes up.
9- The way he is SO active, and loves to play with everything and anything.
10- How much he LOVES to read! Reading is a great pasttime for me, so it's fun that he loves to do it too! I read to him usually at least 1/2 hour a day.

Those are just a few of the things that I love, but I am so grateful for Lincoln! He is such a joy to our family, and brings joy to everyone that is around him as well. Lincoln, you are the best, and we love you like crazy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Random Goodies

Here are just some random pictures of what we have been doing lately! Payton is getting SO big and is RUNNING ALL OVER! He is SO hard to keep up with, and has a large opinion about most everything! What a cute little runt.

My homemaker sister Court made these DARLING aprons for my boys for Christmas, and Lincoln ALWAYS has to have his on! Whether he is helping me in the kitchen, or helping Cole in the garage he has to have it on! What a cutie.

and they also BOTH love to torment me when I am trying to cook in the kitchen! I don't mind it at all, but it is just that they both want to be held when I am trying to cook anything at all-mostly dinner! Payton because he wants the attention, and Lincoln because he doesn't want Payton to have any attention! Boys boys boys. But here they are scopin out the cookies that we were baking...trying to snitch a few, and being quite successful in the process! They both have quite the sweet tooth!

Post Valentines...a little late!

Wow- note to reader- this WAS written on the 16th, but the kids had a breakdown while I was writing the post, so I had to abandon ship! So read as if this was a few days ago! :)

Happy Valentines all! Today is a special day around our house- It's LINCOLN'S BIRTHDAY! But of course, we haven't taken all the pictures that we can take, so we will update that a few days hence!
We had a WONDERFUL Valentines day around here! Cole and I were able to go out for a nice fancy date on Friday the 13th-spooky I know, but nothing even happened! We just had a wonderful time. It was nice to be without the children,-as much as we love them! We went to Ruth's Chris Steak house and had a MAGNIFICENT dinner! It was so scrumptious! Dinner took a little longer than we expected, so we just walked around Down town a bit, then headed to Redbox, got a REALLY LAME movie, and went home! Really, it was a stupid movie-Brideshead Revisited. DUMB! So we watched another one instead. We had a great night.
Then on Saturday we just had a low-key day! I played Young Womens basketball in the morning and we just hung around until about 4:30 when we had PINK PANCAKES for dinner along with a scrumptious chocolate Fondue pot! We had all sorts of yummy things to go with it. The kids loved it. Well, Lincoln thought it was pretty cool, but Payton just wanted to eat. He didn't appreciate the delicacies he was participating in. anyways, it was delish! Cole, the best husband and father ever, had the boys decorate some Valentines for me while I was at Young Womens last WEDNESDAY! (what a forward thinker) and they are the cutest things ever! I couldn't resist taking pictures and sending them to you! Lincoln actually wrote the story that is on the card, and Cole wrote it down. Such cute little boys! All in all, it was a wonderful Valentines. Thanks boys! What a lucky gal I am!

Paytons little hands....Cole is SO CLEVER!

Payton LOVES oranges, and can eat a whole one in seconds....literally!

Funny Lincoln

Conversation between Lincoln and the missionaries when they came over for dinner tonight:

Missionaries: Hi Lincoln! What are you doing?
Lincoln: Oh just watchin CARS
Missionaries: Cool! Do you know who this is? (Pointing to Picture of Christ we have in our house)
Lincoln: That's Jesus!
Missionaries: Oh that's cool! Who is Jesus?
Lincoln: Umm...I don't know who he is...but he lives in the clouds!

FRUSTRATIONS!!!!

Hello all- Let me tell you about some of my frustrations. I know that most everyone has these same ones, but I am about to pull my hair out! My boys are SO loud! And not just any old time- during sacrament meeting! I don't know what to do. I had to bring the kids home after sacrament meeting because they both sound like walruses with their barking coughs, but they were seriously SO bad during sacrament meeting! It is so hard for Cole and I because we want to listen so bad, but we can't seem to reign in our children! So we just end the meeting more frustrated than uplifted by what we needed to learn during the wonderful fast and testimony meeting. So- all of you guys who have perfect children during sacrament meeting (particularly a 3 year old) PLEASE feel free to chime in any time and let me know what to do! I love my kids more than anything, but I also love church and really would like to pay attention! It doesn't help at all that Lincoln hasn't been to nursery for 2 weeks now because he is sick! What's a mother to do.
Perfect little angels you say? Most of the time yes, but sometimes- I beg to differ!
