BORED OUT OF MY MIND!!!!

Okay everyone... I know that you are all much smarter than I am, and are much better at finding things to do, but PLEASE HELP ME!! I am SO bored out of my mind that I am going crazy! It is 9:00 p.m., Lincoln is asleep, and Cole doesn't get home from school for another hour! Keep in mind this happens twice a week! PLEASE give me some ideas- and none of this artsy fartsy stuff that all of you good moms/women do! Give me something meaningless that I don't have to think about! Okay, actually, give me anything you got! Maybe the artsy fartsy stuff will be good for me! I DO need to be a better mother who knows...you know! Anyways, hope you all are having a non-boring night.

Buffalo Bill Museum...COOL!!!

Hello all- So last weekend, we were bored and decided that we might want to go up the canyon that is about 2 hours away to check out some of the ski resorts that are out there! We started driving, and about 20 minutes into our drive, we saw some signs that were boasting of Buffalo Bills Gravesite...we COULDN'T resist! So, we took the sidetrack, and had a great time at the museum and whatnot! It was SO much fun! Lincoln, the whole time, was just yelling...BEEG BUTHLO!!! (Translation- BIG BUFFALO!!) He is so smart! Anyways, we had a great time getting all dressed up in Cowboy clothes and riding the horse with no legs. It was fun for all! If any of you are out this way, and are wanting something fun to see, we recommend it! It was quite neat to read all about Buffalo Bills life! We thought we knew who he was, but we were WAY OFF! So it was neat to be educated on some history.

(THREE LITTLE OUTLAWS, JUST GETTING READY FOR THE BIG SHOW!!!)

Getting ready to head into the museum, just reading a few signs...catchin up on some history...COle's FAVORITE thing to do! He would stop at EVERY historical marker if I let him!

RIDE 'EM COWBOY!!! (Lincoln wasn't much into getting his picture snapped, but he LOVED dressing up and riding the horses. So did the BIG MAMMA!

Our little man showing us how BIG his muscles are!!!

DUE DATE SET!!

(Don't worry, this isn't my baby- just a fun picture that I found on the internet. I LOVE looking at pictures of babies in utero!)

I forgot to write about this important thing! I was having so much fun writing about Lincoln, that I forgot that we have some big news!! We have SET THE BABY'S BIRTHDAY!!! As of right now, the baby will be born on the 30th of November around 7:30 a.m.! YEAH! My doctor here in Denver, whom I LOVE, chatted with me a whole bunch about c-sections, and trying to have a baby normally after you have already had one c-section- and thinks it wise that we just schedule a c-section with this one- seeing as how the fact that Lincoln was a 9 pound baby could probably happen again. So we have scheduled the operation for 7:30 on the 30th, but if I happen to go into labor before then, both Cole and I feel like we want to try and have the baby normally. That is-no c-section. But, if it so happens that we can't, there are worse things in life right? I never really thought that I would have babies normally. In fact, I thought that c-sections were the norm seeing as how my mother had all 5 of us that way! So either way, we are EXCITED to bring this little dude into the world! MAN is he wiggly! I think even more so thank Lincoln! Oh, here we go again!

Chocolate Chip Pancakes

The other morning, I made chocolate chip pancakes- which I love- and, as you can see, Lincoln LOVED them too! He is such a breakfast man! He always eats as much as Cole and I, and usually wants more as well! Same with Lunch! But that is DEFINITELY more than I can say for dinner. He won't TOUCH dinner....EVER! But he sure isn't have a problem with his size, so we aren't worried for now. Needless to say, after the chocolate chip pancakes, Lincoln was begging for more, and Cole and I were doubled over in pain because we had TOO much sugar for breakfast! Lesson learned!

Missing our Brother

Today, we are missing our brother Bryson, because we actually got to TALK to him yesterday on the phone! This being because my parents had to take him to the orthodontist to fix a broken retainer. It was the neatest thing! We didn't get to talk for long, but just a few minutes was good enough for us to hear his voice! For those of you that don't know, my brother Bryson is in the MTC preparing to leave for Canada on the 9th of October! He is going to be- and already is!- the best missionary, and we are very proud of him! One person that misses him terribly is his nephew Lincoln! Here are a few pictures of Bry and Link messing around being funny! Enjoy!

Monumental Occasion

Just getting started!!

A very common sight when Lincoln was little...cute little guy! Could those eyes get ANY bigger!!!

The Boating Binkie Boy

In the hospital- already attached!!!

So, this has been a monumental occasion in the Smith family! Right now, it is 6:55 a.m., and Lincoln didn't wake up ONE time last night! That isn't so much the big news as is the fact that yesterday, before Lincolns nap, WE CUT HIS BINKIE! I am sure that we aren't out of the woods yet, but hopefully, we are somewhere close! Let me explain a little bit. Lincoln has been attached to his binkie since birth. It has been REALLY a nice thing to have. Whenever he was sad, or fussy, or crying or anything like that, we would just pop in his binkie (easy way out, I know!) and he would be fine! Then, we slowly weaned him off of it in the day, and that wasn't too bad. So for about a year now, he has only had his binkie at night. It is his best little friend! He LOVES it! He always says "my binkie" right before we put him into his bed, with the hugest grin on his face, and then when we give it to him, he is so excited, and usually falls right to sleep. This is all well and good, but the problem is, that he loses it during the night. Not only does he lose it, but he has learned that if he throws it out of his crib, or knocks it out somehow- usually it is a nice chuck across the room, or a shove down the side of the bed so that we have to climb under the crib to get it- then he knows that we have to come back in and give it back to him. He will cry "my binkie, my binkie!!!" until we come back in and give it to him! So, since we have been in Denver, he hasn't been sleeping very well. Two nights ago, he woke up like 4 or 5 times needing his binkie! So Cole and I decided that it was time for the big separation! I didn't know quite what to do, because he has been so attached to it. But we heard that if you start cutting the top of the binkie off and go slowly down little by little, then the child doesn't really want it any more. They kind of get bored with it, and decide that they are alright without it. Well, I have been a little bit apprehensive, because Lincoln is so attached to it, but we decided to try it anyways! So yesterday, before Lincolns nap, I snipped just the top little part of the nipple off, and as soon as he was laying down in his crib, I gave him the MEAN binkie. He took one suck happily, and as he continued sucking, his face just kept going down and down. He yanked it out of his mouth, looked at it, looked at me, and just said "my binkie!!" Then, I left and needless to say, he wasn't very happy. He cried for like 20 minutes before he fell asleep. Before he fell asleep, Cole and I went in a couple of times to see if he would take his binkie again, and he just cried harder when we would give it to him! Poor guy! It was like we were taking away his best friend! How would WE like it! Anyways, he finally fell asleep, but then was awoken by the phone, which never happens, and actually never went back to sleep! Oh well. I will sacrifice one day of naps for some longer sleep at night! But like I said before, I am sure that we are not out of the woods yet. Cole and I woke up this morning not wanting to talk to each other, because we didn't want to jinx it! So we will see how this works. I will keep you updated! But as for now, here are some pics of the little guy munchin away in his life! Enjoy!

HELLO FROM DENVER!!!!

Well, we finally made the big move! We rolled out of North Salt Lake on the 24th of August, and arrived in Denver that same night around 6:00 p.m.! It took us all of 11 hours!!! AHHH!! It was a lot longer than we expected, but we made it, safe and sound! We barely fit all of our stuff into our truck, which was lucky, but we got it all in, not to mention having the whole car that we were pulling full of stuff! The drive usually only takes about 8 hours, but with a big truck, a baby and a pregnant mommy, it tends to take a little bit longer! Lincoln was an angel the whole trip, but that was probably because he was able to sit up front with us, because we only had a bench seat! We like our new house too! It was ALOT dirtier than we wanted, but after a good week of scrubbing, and scrubbing, it is finally starting to be up to par! We don't have air conditioner in our house, but the weather has been pleasant enough that it hasn't been too bad during the day! It gets a little hot to sleep at night, but we have lots of fans to cool us off! Lincoln is still having a little bit of troubles with the move. He misses all of his friends and family back in Utah! He has been a little bit sick too, so that has only compounded the problem. But he is starting to get acclimated to his surroundings, and thinking that this Denver place is pretty cool! We have a great big backyard complete with a swingset and sandbox, so he is pretty much in heaven! We send him outside with a couple of balls, and he has a blast by himself! So that saves Mom some headache! Cole has started with the Orientation week for school, and actually registers tomorrow (Thursday). So we will see what the schedule is! It has been raining quite a bit this week, and Cole rides his bike to school, and unfortunatley today, on his way home from a seminar, he got caught in a MAJOR rainstorm! He rode up soaked on his bike! Poor Guy! That's what you get when you only have one car! anyways, here are a few pictures to document our trip, and our first few days out here! ENJOY!
