Potty Training Update

So, the potty training is on its way! I am not going to lie...this is the HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!! And I have done alot of things! No, but seriously, it is hard! I have heard how hard it is, but it really IS that hard! I am glad that we are doing it though. We have been doing it for just over a week now, and Lincoln is making some progress. He doesn't ever say when he needs to go to the bathroom, so we have numerous accidents unless I take him every hour or so. I don't mind doing that though, if it means that he won't have accidents! I just dont' know if he is really understanding. But maybe! Just a few minutes ago, prior to writing this post, he- for the FIRST TIME- told us that he needed to go poop, and he WENT! Yeah! So we are working on it. Here are some pics of the first few days. We dressed his little hippo up in some big boy pants too, and he thought it was HILARIOUS!! He has been getting treats galore if he goes on the potty, and if he is dry! So we will see how this all goes. I have been pretty discouraged, but have been encouraged to keep on trying- and see how it goes after a few weeks. So that is what we do! I am crazy, but what can you do! I don't like to change diapers...let alone TWO kids diapers!

I had a few other good pictures, but for some reason, can't put them on the computer! I will try later, for now enjoy these!

The FIRST time in big boy pants! He chose CARS undies.
Runnin around in his boots!
The LOOT!!!!
First sticker for going poop on the potty! He had lots of candy and treats to choose from, but he chose this Mickey sticker that he had seen in my Scrapbooking stuff- what a dude!

Paytons Blessing, and Early Birthday Party!!!

Wow-we had the BEST weekend this past weekend. We blessed our sweet little Payton at Church on Sunday, and ALL of Paytons Grandparents PLUS his aunt Rachie were able to come and be with us on this special day! Can we say PARTY!!! Lincoln and Payton were in HEAVEN! It was nice to have a little bit of a break from having the boys all to myself for 24 hours of the day-literally- and it was SO much fun to be with our parents and my sweet sister! Since Lincolns birthday is in just a couple of weeks, we decided that we wanted to have a little party for him while all of his grandparents were here. Of COURSE, I made a train cake, which was FABULOUS (Lincoln LOVED it!) and we opened a few presents. Nothing real exciting, but Lincoln sure had a good time being the center of attention. I sure don't know where he gets that from! Certainly not his MOTHER!! (wink, wink...teehee!) Of course, the highlight of the weekend was when Cole gave Payton a name and a blessing in our sacrament meeting on Sunday. Cole did a marvelous job. He gives such beautiful blessings, and Payton is lucky to have such a wonderful father that is a worthy priesthood holder. I sure am grateful for him! Anyways, we had a wonderful weekend, and were sure sad to say goodbye to everyone when they left! We will just have to plan another trip sometime soon! LOOK OUT UTAH!!
The big news now is that tomorrow, I am starting the Potty Training thing with Lincoln! AHHH! I am a little bit nervous, but hopefully it will work out for the best. We will see how it goes. He loves to go to the bathroom on the potty, but I just don't know if he understands if he has to go yet! We will see tomorrow I guess! I will update you on that next time! Toodles for now! Here's the blessing boy! Isn't he SO sweet!!! He did GREAT during the blessing...didn't even make a peep to make his daddy nervous!!!Here's all 4 of Paytons wonderful Grandparents. This is one lucky kid! We really appreciate our parents traveling all that way to come and be with their grandson on this special day!

Here's the sweet train cake! Thanks Anna for the mold!! WE LOVE IT!!!
Lincoln was pretty pumped to have his OWN cake-separate from the big train- that he could chow down on. And CHOW DOWN he did!!! This kid loves sugar!
Cole's mother Maxine with our sweet Payton
Mindy's mother Brenda on her VERY BIRTHDAY with the boys!! Happy Birthday mom. I love you more than anything! You don't even LOOK 45!!!

Wonderful Man

I just received the news that our Beloved Prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away this evening. Oh how my heart aches for the loss of such a wonderful man. He has been a very great influence in my life. Since the time I was a little girl, I have known President Hinckley as a prophet. He was called to be the Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 12 years old, and has wrought many miracles since he as been the President. He taught me the importance of temples, and inspired me to be a better person. I take comfort that he is with his sweet wife now, but am so sad that he has passed away. Cole and I were talking about this a few minutes ago- and we still know that the church is in wonderful hands, but President Hinckley will be sorely missed by all that knew- or knew of him. I love President Hinckley, and his presence will be missed.

HAPPY DAY!!!

My mother really wanted me to post some videos of the boys, so here goes! Sorry, the lighting was bad on the second one!

Last post was a sad day, this one is a HAPPY DAY because Cole and I purchased a new camera! Such a bummer to have to do so, but we are enjoying the new camera now, and since our boys are growing up right before our eyes, we figured we had better start documenting it! So here are some updated pictures of what we have been doing. There have been lots of things, so bear with my randomness!!!

Lincoln thinks it is SO awesome to sit in Paytons bouncer! He is so funny.
Here's my little bear before our walk outside in the frigid cold weather!

So this is Lincolns new favorite thing to do! We are going to start potty training him soon, I think- but he LOVES to go to the bathroom on his little potty! So here he is just chillin' readin a book- goin to the bathroom.
He loves to wear my hat. What a dude!
This is Lincolns best little buddy Calvin. Every night in his prayers- or rather every prayer that he says- he thanks Heavenly Father for Calvin and Lindsay and John (Calvins parents) He is so dang cute! Anyways, they have their rows, but for the most part, they love each other!
Getting ready to go for a walk in our NEWLY PURCHASED Double jogger-purchased off of Craigs list! ( Best thing ever!) Both Craigslist and the stroller that is!:)

Sad Day...:(

Well- it's a sad day. Cole and I officially cannot find our CAMERA! How sad is that! So that is why there have been no pictures of the little squirts for a while. I am shopping around for a new digital camera, so if anyone knows of any deals, PLEASE let me know! Until then, we will just be posting pictures from off of my phone...which aren't that good! I am going to try and post a movie of Payton smiling-Oh! It worked! Not the best resolution, but it will have to do! This little smile melts my HEART! What a stud.

To be a Mother

Even though I have hard days sometimes, there is NOTHING better in the world than being a mother. I love it so much. There are days when it is so hard, but for the most part, it is the best job that anyone could have. It is so rewarding to see my son jump up to see me and give me a huge hug when I come into the door, or to see my little guy crack a big huge grin when he hears me enter into a room. I love my boys!

* A Special Mom

Before I was a mom-
*I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
*I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
*I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a mom-
*I had never been puked on. Pooped on.
*Chewed on.
*Peed on.
*I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
*I slept all night.

Before I was a mom-
*I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
*Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
*I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
*I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a mom-
*I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
*I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
*I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
*I never knew that I could love someone so much.
*I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a mom-
*I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
*I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
*I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
*I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a mom-
*I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
*I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
*I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Close and VERY SCARY CALL!!!!

So, I am going to tell a story about my almost 2 year old that entered the "terrible two's" about 3 months ago! Nobody turn me in to the Department of Child and Family Services or anything, but I can't seem to keep track of my child! He is SO fast, and SO destructive, I can't quite keep up with him! A couple of days ago, I was talking on the phone, and all of the sudden, I heard a sound that I didn't want to hear! I ran to the stairs to find Lincoln sitting in the middle of an entire bottle of stool softeners surrounding him on the floor! Oh MAN did I freak out! I hung up on my friend that I was talking to (sorry Jenn-Y) and quickly called Poison Control. Through a series of questions, we found out that he could have possibly only eaten about 2 maybe 3, and the worst they would do would be to make him have diahrrea, and possibly get dehydrated. MAN! I have never been so happy for the news of diahrrea in my life! Needless to say, I was sobbing, and felt like the worst mother ever! I don't even know where he FOUND those! Oh boy...then, by the time I was off of the phone, and made sure that everything was alright, I walked into the family room to again, find Lincoln surrounded by all of the DVD's that we have that he had so graciously taken out of the cupboard for me! Wow- he sure does keep me hoppin'! He is making me work for each pound that I try to lose! I sure love the little guy though. That was just a LITTLE too close of a call for me! I will now try to be a better mother. Or at least a more observant one!

Christmas Holidays

Welcome to 2008! That is sure weird to say. I was reading on my cousins blog, and she mentioned something about Y2K being 8 YEARS AGO! Man, that is weird, because I remember gearing all up for everything electronic to just BLOW up right in my face at 12:00 on New Years that year....what a bogus thing. Funny what people come up with! Anyways, we had a WONDERFUL Christmas holiday in Utah. We were there for 2 whole weeks, and MAN did both of my boys hit growth spurts! Seriously, now Lincoln can grab just about anything off of the counter that he wants, which isn't the best for me, but what can you do! Payton is doing SO many fun things. He is starting to smile, which of course melts his parents hearts, and he is cooing lots too! IT is so much fun! Things that he isn't doing; sleeping at all longer at night. He is a 3-4 hour kind of a dude, but that is alright with me. We had lots of fun in Utah, and mostly because it SNOWED SO MUCH! It was so fun to have a white Christmas. IT even snowed about 8 inches at my parents house on Christmas Eve! Talk about sweet! Anyways, here are some of the pictures taken over Christmas. Enjoy!
This is one of my favorites...what a cute little dude!!!
This is Paytons mad face! He is still SO cute!
This is Lincoln and his cousin Drew doing what they did the whole vacation...FIGHTING over their toys! Oh boy, I hope this isn't a view of things to come!
We had a chocolate fountain party with my mom and all her sisters and their girls...I needed to see my cousins that I haven't seen for a while! This one is of all the "big moms" that were there and their babies!
This is one of all the "Little Moms" that were there and their babies!
Courtney enjoying the chocolate fountain. Here's all the available babies lined up according to age-except Lincoln of course! These are all of the babies of my cousins that were born in the last year or so. I think there are still 4 maybe 5 babies missing in this picture! That's alot of babies...SO FUN!!
Here's the GORGEOUS quilt that my mother made for Payton! Maxine (Cole's mom) made one for him too, but I still have yet to take a picture of it! I am a slacker!
HEre's the fam looking at the lights at temple square. It was FREEZING that night, but the kids had a blast!
Ownin' up on the gingerbread houses!
The ONLY decent shot we got of all the grandkids on Christmas eve in their new Jammies!
Here's lincolns new Post at our house! This is where we can ALWAYS find him! His new train table!
We went to the zoo lights here in Denver, and it was SO much fun! We will definitely do it again!
