GO JAZZ!!! Oh wait....

...they really BLEW it! Cole and I and little Lincoln went with some of our dear friends the Moss's to the Jazz/Nuggets game at the Pepsi center the other night, and needless to say, we were a bit disappointed. FIRST, Lincoln MIGHT not have liked it as much as we thought he would. I give credit to the poor little dude, he really hurt his foot earlier in the day and couldn't walk very well, but was he ORNERIER than ever? Holy Moly yes! WE sure love him though. It all started when we were dropping Payton off at the babysitters house. A family in our ward watched them, and Lincoln LOVES this family to death...would probably move in with them if he could. So he was QUITE upset when we said that he was going to go to a dumb old basketball game instead of hang out with them! So mean aren't we? So he cried until we got to the train- and stopped for a while, because that is just about his favorite thing to do in the whole wide world is ride the train. Especially the E line! Anyways, here's a pic of the boys at the station waiting for our train...

When we got to the game, Lincoln was SO excited to see Calvin! They hugged and bumped chests like real men. They are SO cute. They had such a great time together. We walked around, got popcorn and drinks, and treat lady Lindsay had a huge supply of lots of candies for us all! Thanks Linds! As soon as tip off happened, Lincoln turned to Cole and said, "daddy, i'm done with this basketball game...I want to go home now." He hadn't taken a very good nap that day, and we don't do well when we don't get our sleep! But, he had enough energy to watch the game for a little bit longer. Here's Link and Cal soakin it all in...

In the end, it was all too much for the little tyke. He couldn't bear to watch the Jazz blow it for one more second. Man they didn't do very well did they? Oh well, there's always next year right?

All Tuckered out...

This is what Calvin was doing while Lincoln was sleeping! He was TOTALLY diggin the game! What a stud.
Thanks Moss's for scopin' out the best seats in the house!

March Snow

So, for the past couple of weeks, it has been really cold and kind of snowy! IT'S APRIL FOLKS! What the heck! I have always said how nice Denver's weather is, and then when its supposed to be spring, here we are having a battle of the seasons! It will be nice and warm one day, and then the next, you will wake up to this!......

We pretty much love the snow around here though, so it was just fine with us! It is nice for a change. Lincoln LOVES the snow, and Payton is still trying to get the hang of things. He isn't strong enough yet to be really confident in the snow, so has a hard time getting around and stuff. He reminds me of the little boy on Christmas Story that can't put his arms down and gets stuck on his back. I think his name is Ralphie?? Anyways, we had a fun time anyways! We heard that all of the sledding hills get SLAMMED in the winter here, so we decided to make one of our own! This is our own little sledding corner and Cole tries to build it up pretty sweet when it does snow so that we can have a good time. We built jumps and everything! We rule. Lincoln and Payton LOVED sledding, and we stayed outside for quite some time!

The boys were ROCK STARS on the huge sledding hill. Lincoln was Oh so kind to hold his brother on the sled. They went WAY fast! (Lincoln thinks so anyways.:))

Mom and Payton. Payton was SO cute. Everytime we went down, he would LAUGH and LAUGH! He thought it was SO much fun and would try to stand back up to go back up the hill, and THIS is what would happen....

Poor little dude couldn't stand up by himself.

Dad and Lincoln givin it a whirl...notice the jump if you will. :)

"Mom, this ISN'T very fun for me! I'm cold, and my boogers are sticking to my face!"

"OH all right...CHEESE"
Payton started getting cold, so he and I ventured back indoors while the big boys stayed outside and built a little fort so that they could sabotage me and Payton when we came back out! I even came bearing gifts, but got pegged with snowballs nonetheless. Here's Lincoln hiding in his little (I say little, but it was actually quite sweet!) snowfort and having his cup of hot chocolate. How's that for sweet!

Lincoln enjoying his hot C from the comfort of his fort.

HeLLOOOOOOO Gloria!

The boys hidin out in the fort the morning after it's conception. BOY was that a fun thing! Thanks Cole!

So we had a great time in the snow just livin it up!

Redemption

So, I was feeling kind of bad about the Bread Fiasco- see previous post- so I decided to make something different! Bread isn't my forte! So I found a killer BAGELS recipe- one from Heidi Maxfield's (another one of my cousins) recipe blog, and they turned out FABULOUS! As of right now, Payton and Lincoln are on their second EACH and I just pulled them out of the oven about 10 minutes ago! I have to admit, I have eaten one as well! But they turned out great, so no more sore feelings here!

I made some cinnamon and sugar ones, plain ones, and of course my favorite- cheese bagels. I put some Parmesan cheese on the top....delish!!! Those just might be a weekly make! We eat them like hot cakes around here, and NOW I don't have to buy the yucky ones from the store that taste like preservatives! Yeah! Thanks Heidi! You can find the recipe off of the Heidi Maxfield's Recipes link on the right of my blog! Happy Cooking!

Culinary Masterpiece....

So I have been into making bready things lately, and figured maybe I should give it a go again after my last failed attempt at making wheat bread. (We sure had a great door stop for a while after that attempt though!) So I got a recipe that my dear cousin Brynn put into our family cookbook for basic white bread, and gave it a go! It was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! (See picture)

A picture is worth a thousand words...or so they say! I pulled out this beautiful loaf of bread from the oven and was SO excited to cut into it, and THIS is what I found!!!

COMPLETELY HOLLOW!!! Ah! Shoot. I have to admit, I cooked it for as long as it said to cook it for, but when I turned it out of the pan, it TOTALLY caved in because it wasn't finished cooking, so I put it back into the oven to cook longer, but it must have detached from the inside and cooked that way! What a bummer. BUT....

My built in garbage disposal still ate it! It was actually yummy bread, just hollow. But Payton will eat anything. While I was doing something else in the kitchen for dinner, Payton was in scavenging for anything that he could find! So I guess all was not lost.

It really is way unfair that Payton has longer eyelashes than me! What is THAT all about!

Lincoln wanted to join in on the fun so they both lied down on the stairs and munched away! Love these boys.

Next time, I'll cook it a little bit longer, and not toot my own horn so quick. :)

Needless to say, Culinary Masterpiece gone COMPLETELY AWRY!!!

Mohawk Dudes

If you don't know already, my kids LOVE the bathtub! a while back, I bought these really cool tablets that changed the color of the tub and of COURSE Lincoln only wanted it green ever, unless we could convince him otherwise. They are so funny! Payton loves to splash around, and Lincoln loves to play with the toys, and that includes spelling LOTS of words on the walls with the letters. He is really into letters/words/rhyming and things like that right now. Great for me except for that I have to spell lots of stuff! I could REALLY win a spelling bee now! Here is a pic of my bathing beauties...or dudes.:)

Lincoln thinks it's the funniest thing EVER when we do mohawks on them and always wants me to do a mohawk on Payton...so hilarious.

That ELUSIVE little Leprechaun!

Happy Belated St. Patricks Day! (and of course, Christy, Happy B-Day!) We had a great St. Patricks day this year! I don't usually get much into St. Patty's day, but the boys had a great time this year. We didn't do much. We really only had a green breakfast and dressed up in Green, but we sure had fun doing it! I am a bad mom and didn't even take a picture of the boys in their cute GREEN shirts that my parents brought them back from Cancun, but what can you do! They looked cute, that's all you need to know. :) But here are a few pictures of our crazy breakfast that we had! Lincoln does NOT do well with change, so he had a hard time eating the green eggs, but he was also remembering the book that we read for the occasion- GREEN EGGS AND HAM. One of our favorites, of course! But we had Green eggs, Green pancakes, and Green JUICE! It did look kind of sketchy, but we enjoyed it just the same!
For preschool, we had a hunt for a leprechaun, an that elusive little bugger got away from us again! But we sure got his gold! That crazy guy left it on top of the roof! So funny! Poor little Calvin- sweet little guy- was absolutely TERRIFIED of the idea that we were going to go on a leprechaun hunt! He was so scared, and didn't think that it was such a great idea that we were looking for one. He would have rathered just leave him be, and actually forget him altogether. But as soon as we found his little bucket of gold, he was pretty pumped! So that worked out alright! Sweet little boy! My child was talking about catching him, and then poking him with a stick, but sweet little Calvin just wanted to leave him be, and let him have his gold! He worked for it after all! I LOVE teaching preschool! It is so much fun. It's lots of work, but it is totally so much fun! The kids love it, and so do I! It gives me a great sense of accomplishment. So here's to working mothers! (I can hardly call myself a working mother, but whatever. Props to those that really do work away from home, or at home for lots of hours.)
Anyways, back on the subject at hand, we had a great St. Patrick's Day! We should probably do a little bit of research on why we actually celebrate St. Patrick's day, but we enjoyed it nonetheless!

Payton-saying CHEESE! What a ham. THIS kid LOVES to eat!

Lincoln was a little bit sad that the eggs were green. He actually has a tear rolling down his little cheek! Poor little picked on dude with green eggs.:)

Here's our yummy green breakfast! The boys LOVE waffles, and can certainly eat as many and/or more than Cole and I! We build 'em thick around here. :)

Payton's Celebratory cheer for breakfast! YEAH GREEN!

He finally chippered up a little bit after we gave him some jam to dip his waffles in. Silly boy!

Here is Payton again shoveling everything down his mouth as fast as he can! He SERIOUSLY is a garbage disposal! If you only knew everything that went in that kid's mouth that WASN'T supposed to be there, you would be MORTIFIED! Case in point- yesterday we were at the park and he had something in his mouth, so of course I went fishing, and lo and behold, found a BEER BOTTLE CAP! AHHHHH!!!!! That was only to add to the few boxelder bugs and couple of handfuls of sand that he had already ingested there at the park. Not to mention the extra snacks that were found underneath the picnic table that we were sitting at. NOT OURS btw! Others graciously left their goodies behind for my vacuumish little son.

Mystery Give-away

Okay, my friend Lindsay put this up on her blog, and I really like the stuff she makes! I hope that I can get it done! I have lots of projects, so we'll see how it goes! Kind of fun though:) P.S.- I make REALLY cute stuff! :)

The first 5 people to comment on this post will receive something made by me... but there is a catch; here are the rules:

1. It's my choice what to make... and you won't know what it will be until you get it!
2. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make, but I hope you do!
3. What I create will be just for you.
4. It will be done this year. (hopefully well before that) :)
The catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same giveaway to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. It's all about sharing the love!
(If you don't have a blog you can choose a few people to send something fun and homemade too, and then hope that they do the same).

I love weddings!

So this past weekend (I know, it's the weekend again already, but I am a little slow!) we were able to make a quick little trip to Utah to spend some time with our families because Spencer (Cole's older brother) got married! YEAH! It was so much fun to go and spend some time with everyone, and mostly to meet Laura- Spenny's new bride! We LOVE her, and are so excited that she is going to be part of our family.
So we were able to fly to Utah which was SUCH a nice change from the long drive, and things went pretty smoothly! The flight over wasn't too bad. We left at like 4:30, and Lincoln hadn't taken a nap yet, so as soon as he sat down in his seat on the plane, we put his head phones on, and he was OUT LIKE A LIGHT! SO NICE!!!,

Payton- on the other hand- was not so calm. He is SUCH a wiggly kid, so an hour and some change on a plane isn't his cup-o-tea! All he wanted to do was to get down and run up and down the aisles. And for any of you who have flown from Denver to SLC know that isn't really possible considering all of the turbulence that you experience! So it was rough for him with only a few minutes of crying until the end of the flight when we finally let him down between our legs and as soon as we did that, hit some major turbulence and he slammed his mouth down on my knee and ended up cutting his mouth open WAY bad and bleeding like crazy! We were sure glad the flight was almost over! Poor little dude! He just wants to run around! Is that TOO much to ask!
Anyways, then we were able to spend the day on Thursday and then on Friday with my family doing some fun things. The boys and I were able to go to the Dinosaur Museum with my brother and his wife, my mom and my sissy! It was so great. We even got to see the 3D ocean movie where Payton proceeded to throw up all over my mothers face! Sorry Grandma B! We had a great time anyways.
Then we headed up to Richmond where we had the wedding festivities, and they were SO much fun! Laura didn't want too much for the wedding in terms of festivities, so there was just a small gathering for the ceremony and then we had a yummy luncheon after! Talk about a nice wedding! Now they are in Hawaii basking in the sunlight even though Spencer caught the flu- along with myself and Cole- that seemed to be going around! Dang!
The flight back was pretty uneventful, except for this time, both boys were awake the whole time, and I had to barf in the little barf bag! HOW EMBARRASSING! People were totally just staring at me! I was mortified. What can you do. The boys were quite wiggly again, so it was hard for Cole- bless his heart- to take care of both of them the whole flight home- so I am ETERNALLY grateful that he was with me!
Now we are back and wishing that we had just a few more days with our sweet families, because we welcomed a NEW NIECE into the family! Jamie (Cole's brother Kade's wife) had a baby girl on Tuesday morning, just the day after we left and she is GORGEOUS! Her name is Oakley Jade and she is so dang cute. I can't wait to squeeze her cheeks.

So all in all- it was quite the eventful weekend away! We are glad to be back in our messy house again, and doing what we do best- play! Here are just a few pictures of the weekend. Of course, my camera ran out of batteries for the museum, so I will have to post them later when my brother sends them to me! :)
Payton is such a ham! He doesn't sit still for one minute and loves to have his picture taken! He doesn't pose for too long, so I have to be quick, but he will say CHEESE as soon a I get the camera pointed at him! So funny! He is saying more and more words, and is starting to be able to communicate quite well!
Here's the happy couple with Cole's parents! Sorry this isn't the BEST picture- I was busy chasing children... you know!
Best pic of all three boys. It's quite the chore!
Here's my other little ham! He doesn't smile for very long either, and they are usually goofy smiles. Oh boy, here we go!
Check out the hippo pegs! We are definitely still sporting them, except for now, he is the proud owner of his two top MOLARS! What! Seriously, they have come in, and with a VENGEANCE! Poor guy. He is getting the bottom two right now, so he is pretty miserable. Sure hope he has all the other front ones too! Here's hopin!
