First popsicle of the YEAR!!!
So we were out working in the yard/garden the other day, and it was SO hot, and we were needing a break, and all of the sudden, we hear the splendid sound of the ICE CREAM TRUCK tinkling his little song from far away! Cole said "Man, that sounds fun, I wish the ice cream truck would come to OUR house!" To which I replied, "Actually, this particular Ice Cream Truck drives by our house daily!" Sure enough, not 1 minute later, he came rollin around the corner and up the street! We RAN out to the street and the boys were able to pick a nice ice cream treat for them to enjoy on such a nice spring/summer day! Here's to the summer!

Mother's Day Out
Happy Mothers day! Sorry it's a little bit late, but we aren't on the ball very much around here!:) But for Mother's Day, some girls around here have started a little tradition that the day before Mother's Day, we get to leave our kiddos at home with the hubbies and go and hit the town! And HIT THE TOWN we did! We had so much fun! a bunch of us have gotten season passes to Elitch Gardens (Six Flags) here in Denver, and so we decided that we would go and get our passes and then ride a few rides for the day! Oh man, I felt like a teenager again! We had lots of fun. Then, after we got our teenage groove on, we headed over to Panera Bread where we were met by a few other lovely ladies that weren't able to join us at the park and had a wonderful 3 hour lunch! Well, the lunch only lasted about 20 minutes, but the chatting (clucking like hens-as Cole calls it) lasted for another 3 hours or so! It was so much fun! We had a blast just being together, and it was nice not to have to worry about our children because we knew they were in great hand with our husbands. It's fun to get renewed and remember why you like being a mom sometimes! Thanks Cole for making it all possible for me! I love you! I also love my kids, and I am so grateful for the chance to be their mother. They definitely keep me on my toes, and I resort to tears more than I would like to admit, but they keep me strong! :) My mom says that "What goes around, comes around!" Dang... But Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful mothers out there, especially my own!

All of us CRAZY amusement parkers... Stephanie Dix, Heather Schafer, Brett East, Me, Lindsay Moss

Brett, Heather and I on the Ferris wheel...cute Brett is due in NOT very long...August, and was so cute! She just sat at the bottom of the rides and waited for us, so in honor of her, we rode the Ferris wheel!

Steph and Lindsay also rockin it on the Ferris Wheel

You know your a Mom when...
You know you're a mom when you can't figure out why you have to go to the bathroom so bad all of the time and then realize only upon FINALLY going to the bathroom that you haven't even done so that day (it's like 5 at night by now) but you have entered into the bathroom about 15 times already that day for childs potty break- or mishap- or to grab tissues to blow the never ending faucet that is your child's nose, or to wash hands, etc. It's TRUE when they say when you're a mom you don't even have time to go to the bathroom, and I just figured that out the hard way! Gotta start takin care of myself eh?

Lincolns words of Wisdom
Yesterday, we were late going somewhere and I was trying to get both of the kids in the car, and I was starting to get a little bit upset with Lincoln because he wasn't minding me, and I raised my voice a little bit and this is what Lincoln said...
"Yep Mom, I know that Thunder is a girl, because thunder is loud, and girls are loud. Yep, thunder is definitely a girl!"
What a little sass! Smart little dude, but a sass nonetheless. Callin' me out like that! Cute little munchkin.

I want to be a part of it...
NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!!! Woah, has it really been almost a month since I have written last? Oops! Sorry all. It's been quite busy and stuff! But I can't NOT post about one of the most fabulous trips that I have ever taken in my LIFE!!!! Thanks Mom and Dad! My wonderful parents took all of the married kids in the family and their spouses to an absolutely jam packed trip to New York for a few days, and I tell you what...that was a needed few days refresher for me that's for sure! (Beware of travelog...if you so desire, skip to the bottom for some cool pics!) Cole and I packed up the kids on Tuesday afternoon and drove to Richmond, dropped off the kids, and headed to NY on Wednesday! The flight was a rather long, and very interesting one filled with crazy moms at their wits ends with their kids (I felt so bad for this mom...she was so wiped out, I could tell because I was there too, and was just having struggles!), beat boxing dude behind me that tapped on my chair the ENTIRE flight, and all sorts of other stuff! The flight was actually VERY nice and relaxing! Who knew that 4 interrupted hours on a plane could be so relaxing!
So we got there, taxied to our hotel, and of COURSE went to the nearest Pizza Place and scarffed down some dinner at 1 a.m.! Healthy you say? Oh, that was only the beginning! When us Miles' get together, we know how to EAT! We seriously didn't stop eating the entire time we were there, and we ate at some fantastic places! Carnegie Deli where the Corned Beef sandwiches REALLY ARE a foot tall! Amazing and SO yummy! Lots of pizza places, a little breakfast cafe/grocery store/market where we ate breakfast every morning, and some fun restaurants here and there. It was so much fun!
We did LOTS of fun things. The first day, we were able to do some sight seeing, go to the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art), the David Letterman show, (actually quite amazingly, we were walking by the theater and just decided that we wanted to go in and check it out for a minute and walked straight in to the line where they were giving out forms for people to be able to come to the show! We put our names in the lottery and ALL GOT IN!! It was SO great and so much fun!) and then we were able to go to see Mary Poppins which was absolutely amazing! The staging was SO cool, and the actors were so wonderful. Mary Poppins had the BEST voice, and it was so much fun to see such a fun childhood movie of mine brought to life on stage! The next day was packed as well! We woke up and after breakfast, we experienced MY first ride on a Subway- ever! Cole's too! It was just as fun as ever.:) anyways, we took the bus up to the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, and wow was that ever amazing! It was so neat to see such a wonderful icon of America, and then to see where all the immigrants came through was very humbling as well. Who knew I had so much! I sure do/did, but don't realize it ever! Makes you really stop and think, that's for sure! Then we headed up to Ground Zero- which they have now moved into a little museum and are charging money for people to enter! What is THAT all about! So we just checked it out from the outside. Then we headed to China Town to do a little bit of finagling! I hit the jackpot there in China town! That type of stuff is so much fun for me. To see people barter and try and get stuff down is absolutely hilARIOUS to me, and it is fun for me to do as well! So that was SO much fun. Then that night, we headed to the METS game! Go Mets! They won too, which is a definite plus! Who knew I would be such an avid Mets fan! (Don't worry Rockies, you're still my #1) By this time in the trip, we are all SO flippin worn out, but if you know my mother at all, you know that this is unacceptable! We don't stop unless we are dying! Got places to go, things to do! So the next morning, we woke up ridiculously early again and actually headed to the Manhattan Temple! Wow, how amazing is THAT building! What a little slice of heaven. SO cool to just be walking along a New York street and then enter into the temple! It was so neat. It was incredible to be in a session with so many people that I love that are going to be with me for eternity! So cool! We headed to Carnegie deli after that, and then MERCIFULLY, my mom let us take a 30 minute power nap! Boy I tell you, we were all out like LIGHTS! After that, it was off for a stroll down 5th Avenue and to a wonderful afternoon in Central Park! Who knew that there could be such a big park ANYWHERE!! Seriously, so awesome! They have EVERYTHING there! New York would go crazy without that park I'm sure. Where else would they go to see a little green! We rented some fun bikes while we were there from some dude on a corner and let me tell you, they were WINNERS! We all took our lives into our own hands by renting those bikes I'll tell you what! During our bike ride, we got a call from dear Rachel (my little sister, and the ONLY one that wasn't able to accompany us on our trip-well, Bry too, but he's on a mission and doesn't count!- and Rach thinks she's having an appendicitis attack! WHAT! Poor little thing! Seriously, EVERY time that my parents go out of town, something happens to her. So mom and dad spent some time on the phone getting some things coordinated for poor little Rach while we rode around the park! Oh, and by the way, the bike path through Central Park, even though it IS a one way street, is MUCH safer than riding your bikes back DOWN 5th Avenue, which is what we decided to do to get back in time to turn our bikes back in! SCARY! Ty ALMOST got hit by a bus, but that's an entirely different story. But that night, the culmination of the entire trip happened for me. We were privileged enough to go and see WICKED! Oh man, I have been so bugged about how hyped people have been about this play, but finally let myself go , and started listening to the music and became hooked! I was SO excited to see this, and Cole kept on telling me that I was going to be let down, but MAN was he wrong! What a tremendous production! Oh man...the cast was absolutely fabulous, the staging was amazing, and the music was/is seriously breathtaking and overwhelming! I couldn't have loved it more, and to top it all off, Cole got me a ticket to go and see it with my girlfriends for Mothers Day! What a thoughtful guy eh? But it was SO wonderful! I loved every second of it, and wished that it would have gone on for days!
The trip had to come to an end sometime I guess. We woke up the next morning and couldn't BELIEVE that we actually had to get out of bed so early and headed back to the airport for a very uneventful and very relaxing plane ride home! SO FUN! Thanks SO MUCH Mom and Dad for letting us experience such a wonderfully fun place with you guys. We couldn't have had a better time, and loved every second of it! Can we go again tomorrow?

Just being SO excited after Wicked! Unfortunately, the screen was scrolling up as we took the picture...DOH!!!!

In front of the "Boat House" in Central Park...notice the paper STILL in the wheels of my bike! Don't let that fool you, the brakes didn't even work! YIKES!

Me and my cute parents at the ball game!

Everyone getting ready to cheer on the Mets! GO METS!

Enjoying the Mets Game! How fun is watching Baseball! One of my favorite things to do!

Courtney, my lovely Mother, and I all ROCKIN' Time Square! Seriously, could that place BE any bigger! WOW!

Crazy wax figure outside of the wax museum...what? Weird!

On the Statue of Liberty Ferry- looking at the Manhattan skyline! SO COOL!!!

The whole crew...except Cole of course who was taking the picture! Sorry 'bout the shadow!

My mom and I posing as a couple of Immigrants...IMMIGRAAAANT!!!! (West Side Story for the slow ones:))

Time Square...duh!

Can you spot the Angel Moroni? That was SO neat! As we pulled up to where the temple was supposed to be, our taxi driver turned our attention to the Guilliard (sp?) School of Music and in the reflection of the glass, I saw the Angel Moroni! Talk about cool!

Dyin the Eggs
We also had a fun time decorating Easter Eggs the night before. Lincoln thought it was SO much fun, and loved every second of it. His hands were a different color for a couple of days after, but he sure had fun! He was so cute. I got out a white crayon to write on the eggs, and I asked him what he wanted to write on the egg. The first thing he said was "I want to write I love Calvin!" Calvin is one of his best little buddies, and he had just played with Calvin that day, so that's what he chose! So, this is the egg that I created for Calvin and Lincoln- green of course, Lincolns color of choice for EVERYTHING!

My coveted egg- M+C=LOVE (Mindy+Cole=Love for the late person!)

Dyin' away!

Payton got to sit in his chair for the activity...little too messy for the dude that LOVES to drink anything! We thought it best that we didn't expose him to the vinegar dye. He might not eat ever again!

Easter Goodness
Wow- Sorry it's been such a late come for this post! I KNOW you are all dying to see how cute my boyzies were in their Easter outfits right? RIGHT! Well, you might be a bit disappointed because I didn't even get ONE cute picture of the boys! They just run around too much, and have too much energy to sit for a SECOND for a picture! What can you do. My mom says "What goes around comes around with the energy there Mind!" OH dang, I am in big trouble! Anyways, we had an absolutely wonderful Easter here in Denver. It wasn't a very great day- kind of cold and dreary, but we had a fun time nonetheless. I woke up early to get ready for church and as I was just finishing getting ready, Cole asked me if the boys were still asleep! Assuming that they were, I told him yes. Cole then said, "Lincoln's probably down there half way through his Easter basket by now!" Then he called out Lincolns name, and we hear this "What mom! Hey, someone left this Pinocchio movie down here on the table!" The Pinocchio movie was indeed in his Easter basket so I had to go downstairs and send him back UPSTAIRS while I got a few other things sorted out along with getting Payton out of bed!
Cole waited with the little munchkins on the stairs while I got the camera ready.

Waiting to start the HUNT
The boys were STOKED to get their Easter baskets! Well....at least Lincoln and Cole were! Payton wasn't too into the basket. I'm with him, who would be into a basket with toys when there is CANDY scattered throughout the house! He shoveled more candy into his mouth that morning then I think he has consumed in his whole LIFE! Silly little guy! We kept trying to get him to take his basket and fill IT with candy, but he thought that was a very silly idea and dropped his basket and continued his candy feast. His favorite were of course the PEEPS- his aunt Rach would be so proud!

First glance at the baskets!

Notice Lincoln's basket is totally FULL and there is NOTHING in Paytons basket! Silly boys.

There was alot of THIS...

And This...
Cole had a church meeting after we ate our hard boiled eggs for breakfast, so the boys and I got ready for church. Here are the ONLY good pictures that I got of them! Such a bummer. Cute anyways though! They're just alot cuter when they smile!

I LOVE this picture...they look like they are just having a little conversation with each other! So cute.
Here's a few shots of the boys later on that day out of their Easter church clothes, but in some new shirts that I got them. These turned out a little bit better eh?

Donut Party
The weekend finally came! Conference weekend is one that we really enjoy around here, especially since we don't have to bring the boys to church, and we can actually somewhat listen! YEAH for that! Conference was so amazing, and we loved to hear all of the testimonies of all of the prophets and apostles. We are so excited for Elder Neil L. Anderson to be part of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles. He will be wonderful.
As per tradition, we always (we meaning my family) have a wonderful donut party while the boys are at Priesthood session, and since I have moved here, I have done it here! This just might be the first time that I actually took pictures! So here we are at the semi-annual donut party! We had quite the turn out, so thanks to everyone that brought soup/salad/pregnant bellies! It was quite the bash! We made about 160 donuts plus all of the holes. Of course we all eat too much but what's a party for right?

The coveted Glazed donuts! This is right before the boys came home, and was about 1/3 of the donuts. They were gone SO fast!

Cinnamon and sugar/sugar donuts were of course a hit too!

Katie and Sarah Hoffman ROCKIN the glaze and sugar post. I seriously couldn't do it without these Hoffman girls! They never leave their posts!

Little Payton was quite elusive that night...he just went from person to person asking for donuts. Nobody ever knew if he had already had one, so he probably at about 10! Atta boy!

The BOMB room after the end of the night. Thanks girls for picking up! I don't know what I would have done! The kids sure had fun though! So much fun that after the party, when all of the donuts were LONG gone, Lincoln finally came up to me and said..."okay Mom, I'm ready for a donut now!"

The Jennifer Hoffman's Mom, Haley Hoffman (holding Brooklyn Cronin, and Steph Dix

Laura Cronin and Brett and Stella East

Here's the two ROCK STARS of the party! Steph (in blue) was due THAT DAY! She really didn't want to come to the party, but wanted to have a baby instead, can't imagine why!) and Susan is due in a couple of weeks.

The boys loadin up after they got home from Conference. MAN those dudes can eat!

Two of our LOVELY soup chefs. Lindsay Moss and Anna Gordon. Thanks girls!

We always have the boys go around the room and tell us a little something that they learned during conference so that us girls can partake as well! Thanks guys!
We had a great time, so thanks to all who came and made it possible. We can't wait for October!
