"Burying" our Testimonies

So yesterday was Fast and Testimony meeting in our ward in lieu (is that the right word?) of General Conference this next weekend. The meeting had been going for a while, and there was a lull in the testimony bearer's, so I turned to Lincoln and asked him if he would like to bear his testimony! We have never prepped him for this or anything, so he didn't know what to do, so naturally I thought that he would probably decline. NOPE! He looked right at me and said "SURE MOM!" Then he hopped right up- but I had to explain to him that we had to wait until the person that was bearing their testimony to be finished. as soon as she was finished, he hopped right up out of his seat and we strolled up to the front! He was REALLY excited to get to sit next to his daddy if only for a minute during the meeting, and as soon as it was his turn, Cole took him up there and he bore his cute little testimony! He was really confused for a second, and didn't know what to do, and turned to Cole and said "Oh no! I forgot what to say!" That elicited a bunch of chuckles from the congregation, but then Cole whispered in his ear a little bit about what to say and it took some coaxing, but he finally started! He said that he was glad that Ammon was his favorite protector...of sheep. He said that he was grateful for the dinosaurs (to which our bishop thought he said that his mom (me) was older than the dinosaurs!) he said that he was grateful for his family, for his friends, and a few other things that I can't remember, and then finished and sat back down! It was seriously the cutest thing EVER! What a stud! Then, of course, because I couldn't be shown up by my 4 year old, I stood up and bore my testimony. While I was bearing mine, Lincoln turned to Cole- who of course is sitting on the stand and asked if everyone out there (pointing to the audience) could hear him when he talked into that little thing (the microphone). He was pretty excited for what he just did.
Then when we were sitting down at dinner, we were talking about how proud we were of Link for bearing his testimony, and he said..."I know! I really love burying my testimony! But I forgot to talk about Nephi!" Next time buddy, next time! Childrens testimonies are the sweetest things on the entire earth. I love my little boy, but he isn't so little anymore ! He is growing right up! STOP IT!!!

WHAT the!!!!???

It's Spring...I don't think that the weather got the memo. It is March the 24th, and this is what it looked like at 6:00 last night before we started the get the kids ready for bed.

The boys checkin out the scene. We read Christmas books before bed and sang christmas songs. :)

Here is the same scene this morning at about 8! 10 whole inches!!!!!! Yikes! That was alot of snow in a short period of time! LOVE THAT!!!!

SO WE DID THIS!!! Cole didn't have to go to work...snow/work from home day...you know!:)

Whole wheat pancakes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream with also fresh strawberry syrup. YUMMERS!!!

Morgs is excited to get it in a few hours!

Payton diggin on the breakfast

Link liked it so much it was all OVER his face!

Then we headed outside to shovel the snow...

Cleaning off Dad's NEW TO US car! New '98 subaru. We LOVE it...I love it the most because I don't have take Cole to and from work every day! YAHOO!!!

We had a great time shoveling the snow, and we got all geared up to make a snowman! See the next post for How-To's on how to do this...Yeah for the snow!!

The making of Morris the Stegosaurus

The boys wanted to make a snow man with all of the freshly fallen snow, so we decided to take it one step further and made a snow-saurus! It was SOOO much fun. Of course, it started as a family affair, but then ended up being a Cole and Mindy project with the kids crying all around us. We wanted to have some fun, so a little bit of neglection might have occured. Don't worry, they are all still alive, warm, and full of hot chocolate now! So here is Morris the Stegosaurus. (Lincoln and Payton really like the show Dinosaur Train, and the Stega's name on there is Morris...so Morris it is!)

Here are the steps to making your very own Morris the Stegosaurus...that is IF you have parents as cool as Cole and I! :)
Roll three REALLY big snowballs and place them next to each other...

Then, find your plastic stegosaurus from inside because neither of your parents can figure out what a stegosaurus really looks like. Begin grooming your mound of snow so it somewhat resembles the plastic toy that you have. Try to tell your mom and dad what it looks like, only to have them ignore you and do something totally different only to find that what you said in the first place is really what you should have done, so your parents change it to make it look more like a real Stega (seriously, can't they listen the first time!) Use shovels to make the spikes, and a plastic ruler to shave off the sore parts of the dinosaur, and to make the face/head/mouth. Carve out legs, tail, and make spikes to put onto the tail.

Voila! Finished product...almost!

You then need to take an empty spray bottle and fill it with water and add some food coloring...we added 12 drops of green and 6 drops of blue. Spray all over the dinosaur to make him look GREEN. Add red drops to the eyes to kind of make him look a little bit scary (mom kind of went hog wild with the red! Silly Mom!)

The Morris the Stegosaurus Smith Family Fan club....loads of fun!

Good Morning!

Good Morning everyone! This is what we look like just as we wake up! The first thing we are sure to grab are our weapons! Paytons is his KILLER grin...so cute!

Utah trip Pictures

As promised, here are a few pictures of our trip to Utah. We had SO much fun! These are the shots of us up in Richmond...my mom just takes the rest! Thanks mom!

The wonderful and now ETERNAL Beckstead Family straight out of the temple. Congrats guys! We sure do love you, and feel honored to be a part of such a special day!

Cole was in town with all of our snow stuff in the car, and the boys wanted to go for a ride with Grandpa, so we made due with what we had! don't they look great!

Not CHURCH again!!

This is what Morgan thinks about church...sometimes Morgs, I feel the same way!

Sweet Girl

So Morgan seriously is growing up before my eyes! She is already TWO MONTHS! She had her two month checkups, and everything looks absolutely peachy. She is in the 25% for everything- Weight, height, and head size. So she is just a little pipper, but she certainly is a cute one! Here are some cheesy grins for you. You JUST might want to set these as your wall paper for your computer screen. THAT's how cute she is!

OH so Magical!

That's right...we were able to get just a little taste of the most MAGICAL place on earth. We went to Disney on Ice the other day, and BOY did we have a great time! It truly was magical, I don't care what anyone says! It has been 100 years since Walt Disney started up the Disney company, so they were doing a tribute to that. It wasn't just a few characters, there were over 65 characters or something like that there! It was seriously SO awesome! Everyone from Mickey, Minnie and the gang, to the Incredibles, ALL the Disney princesses, and many more were there. It was so awesome. The boys are really into watching movies- probably because they don't get to very often (they call me the mean old mom) and absolutely LOVE the Disney ones. So it was so fun to watch their faces when a new character would come out. Lincoln said that he liked them all, except for the ones that were scary, but his FAVORITE ones were the ones where there was lots of fighting! Silly kid! Payton clapped his little hands together throughout the entire show, and loved every second of it. I LOVE to watch his little brain go about a thousand miles a minute. So cute. Here are a few pictures of the magical event!

Morgs spent most of the event doing this! We forgot her binky...silly Mommy!

Family Shot! Disney fun...

Morgan was all dolled up for the day in the outfit that I made her. I could EAT her! Seriously!

Cole snuck this shot...he couldn't decide who was happier to be there. Lincoln, or me. I MIGHT have to take the cake on this one!

I TRIED to get all three to look, but Cole was the only one that could peel his eyes away from the breathtaking scene.
