Little Stinker
So- I have a CAT NAPPER! There is nothing that I can do about it either! Try as I may, I can't get Payton to sleep very well! Night is a different story...he sleeps great at night-sometimes even 12 hours! So I just have a cat napper. Which is very hard, because he is MUCH different than his brother who could sleep anywhere, anytime! But he sure is cute! He fell asleep on our bed this afternoon...I am feeling a little bit under the weather, and Cole had to go to school, so he brought him up, and he fell asleep right there laying by me! What a cutie! My mom got after me for posting pictures of Lincoln and not of Payton, so here are some of both the boys...MAN they're cute!
Sleepin on mom's bed! (NEVER have I done this before, and I will NEVER do it when I am in bed...no worries. I get too scared that I will roll over the poor fella! I'm quite the deep sleeper if you know what I mean!)
My two Alta boys. Lincoln and Cole-without my knowing- wore these shirts on the same day, so of COURSE I had to take a picture! Aren't they cute! I have to jump through hoops to get both of them to smile!
Every morning, Lincoln thinks it is SO funny when I put Payton into his crib! He hugs him, kisses him, always says "Hi buddy!". It is SO dang cute!
We went to the zoo today, so here are the pics of the boys in their hats!
Wearin' it kinda gangsta like! He has quite a smaller head than Link did, so it doesn't fit him very well!

Here's to the Future!!
So the boys and I went for a run the other day, and I was listening to my iPod shuffle! When we got home, I set it down on the table so that I could get Payton out of his car seat. I got him out, and forgot about my iPod. Next thing I know, I am in the kitchen making lunch for Lincoln, and he comes RUNNING in with the headphones sort of in his ears with the iPod dragging between his legs and states... "I lisnin to moosic mommy!!" What a STUD! So, I helped him out. I put the ear phones in, and stuck the iPod in his pocket. Don't you think he's cute in his little jogging suit...lookin' all ready for a workout! Atta boy Lincoln! He should be the ad for the new iPods!

Spousal Tag
Oh, I'm not very good at this tag stuff, but if I get to brag about Cole a little bit, I guess I'll do iT!
What's his name? Cole Dean Smith

How long have you been together?
Oh, that's complicated, but here goes. We met in 2002, just before I left for Ecuador. He wasn't too fond of me, thought I was too crazy or something like that! When I came back, we were friends for a little while- then started dating in April of 2003. I then proceeded to break up with him when I moved home for the summer. Then, when I came back up to school, I saw him for the first time and thought..."Oh shoot! He is really cute, and I think I still like this kid!" We were friends for a little while again, then smooched one night and figured we had better give the dating thing another go. That was in September of 2003. By February 2004 we were engaged, June we were hitched! We have now been married for almost 4 years! Wow does time fly!
How long did you date? As stated above, we dated on and off for about 2 years before we were married.
How old is he? WAY old....27
Who eats more? Ummm...candy, Cole. Salty things (potato chips, french fries, etc.) Me. Cole can mostly eat more at dinner, but that is because I am trying to maintain my girlish figure!
Who is taller? Cole thank goodness! He is 6'1" and I am 5'8"
Who said 'I love you' first? Cole did, but I was SO wanting to say it for a long time. I didn't want to steal that "first" from him, but I said it right after he did! Under the mistletoe and everything!
Who does the laundry? I do-unfortunately! My least favorite chore! But Cole is really good about doing it if I ask him to.
Who does the dishes? That would have to be Cole. I also don't like dishes...I am not the best homemaker I guess. But he is a great dish-doer. (if there is such a word!)
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Depends on the night. For the most part, I sleep on the right side of the bed when we are laying in it, but sometimes I like to switch it up for some reason, and cole complies.
Who pays the bills? I do. Not the funnest, but I have a better memory, so that job falls to me.
Who mows the lawn? Cole. I love to mow the lawn, but so does Cole, and I am VERY slow at it, so he does it, and does a GREAT job at it!

Who cooks dinner? Usually me, unless I am so sick of cooking. Then he makes a mean taco or fajita, or something of the like.
Who sings better? Ummm...Me, but Cole has a wonderful voice!
Who drives when you are together? Cole-because he doesn't trust my driving! I have places to go and people to see!
Who is more stubborn? Oh, we are both pretty stubborn. We just actually had this conversation, because we were wondering where Lincoln got his stubbornness, and we came to the conclusion that he is more stubborn, and I am more headstrong. I don't know which is worse!
Who is smarter? Definitely Cole. Not a very smart cookie here!
Who kissed who first? Cole made the move, and very smartly during the Movie "Princess Bride" which just happens to be my favorite movie!
Who asked who out first? Well, after Cole kissed me during the Princess Bride, he thought it only appropriate to ask me out for the next night for the first time! :) Such a sly dog!
Who proposed? Him, and MAN was it romantic!
Who is more sensitive? Me for sure...I am a huge bawl baby! I cry at everything! Thanks alot mom!
Who has more friends? I would say that I do, because I keep in better touch with my friends, and I am a stay at home mom, and have to have friends to stay sane!
Who has more siblings? Cole...there are 6 kids in his family, 5 in mine
Who wears the pants in the family? If you ask Cole, I wear the pants, if you ask me, he wears the pants...so we share them pretty much! I am more organized, and Cole is more of a go getter, so we have to put those things both together!
I sure love Cole! He is the greatest thing in the world. He is the most wonderful dad...right now, he is downstairs with Payton because I couldn't handle it any more! I just needed a little break, and he was MORE than happy to oblige! I love you Cole!

Potty Training Update
So, the potty training is on its way! I am not going to lie...this is the HARDEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE!! And I have done alot of things! No, but seriously, it is hard! I have heard how hard it is, but it really IS that hard! I am glad that we are doing it though. We have been doing it for just over a week now, and Lincoln is making some progress. He doesn't ever say when he needs to go to the bathroom, so we have numerous accidents unless I take him every hour or so. I don't mind doing that though, if it means that he won't have accidents! I just dont' know if he is really understanding. But maybe! Just a few minutes ago, prior to writing this post, he- for the FIRST TIME- told us that he needed to go poop, and he WENT! Yeah! So we are working on it. Here are some pics of the first few days. We dressed his little hippo up in some big boy pants too, and he thought it was HILARIOUS!! He has been getting treats galore if he goes on the potty, and if he is dry! So we will see how this all goes. I have been pretty discouraged, but have been encouraged to keep on trying- and see how it goes after a few weeks. So that is what we do! I am crazy, but what can you do! I don't like to change diapers...let alone TWO kids diapers!
I had a few other good pictures, but for some reason, can't put them on the computer! I will try later, for now enjoy these!
The FIRST time in big boy pants! He chose CARS undies.
Runnin around in his boots!
The LOOT!!!!
First sticker for going poop on the potty! He had lots of candy and treats to choose from, but he chose this Mickey sticker that he had seen in my Scrapbooking stuff- what a dude!

Paytons Blessing, and Early Birthday Party!!!
Wow-we had the BEST weekend this past weekend. We blessed our sweet little Payton at Church on Sunday, and ALL of Paytons Grandparents PLUS his aunt Rachie were able to come and be with us on this special day! Can we say PARTY!!! Lincoln and Payton were in HEAVEN! It was nice to have a little bit of a break from having the boys all to myself for 24 hours of the day-literally- and it was SO much fun to be with our parents and my sweet sister! Since Lincolns birthday is in just a couple of weeks, we decided that we wanted to have a little party for him while all of his grandparents were here. Of COURSE, I made a train cake, which was FABULOUS (Lincoln LOVED it!) and we opened a few presents. Nothing real exciting, but Lincoln sure had a good time being the center of attention. I sure don't know where he gets that from! Certainly not his MOTHER!! (wink, wink...teehee!) Of course, the highlight of the weekend was when Cole gave Payton a name and a blessing in our sacrament meeting on Sunday. Cole did a marvelous job. He gives such beautiful blessings, and Payton is lucky to have such a wonderful father that is a worthy priesthood holder. I sure am grateful for him! Anyways, we had a wonderful weekend, and were sure sad to say goodbye to everyone when they left! We will just have to plan another trip sometime soon! LOOK OUT UTAH!!
The big news now is that tomorrow, I am starting the Potty Training thing with Lincoln! AHHH! I am a little bit nervous, but hopefully it will work out for the best. We will see how it goes. He loves to go to the bathroom on the potty, but I just don't know if he understands if he has to go yet! We will see tomorrow I guess! I will update you on that next time! Toodles for now!
Here's the blessing boy! Isn't he SO sweet!!! He did GREAT during the blessing...didn't even make a peep to make his daddy nervous!!!
Here's all 4 of Paytons wonderful Grandparents. This is one lucky kid! We really appreciate our parents traveling all that way to come and be with their grandson on this special day!

Here's the sweet train cake! Thanks Anna for the mold!! WE LOVE IT!!!
Lincoln was pretty pumped to have his OWN cake-separate from the big train- that he could chow down on. And CHOW DOWN he did!!! This kid loves sugar!
Cole's mother Maxine with our sweet Payton
Mindy's mother Brenda on her VERY BIRTHDAY with the boys!! Happy Birthday mom. I love you more than anything! You don't even LOOK 45!!!

Wonderful Man

I just received the news that our Beloved Prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley passed away this evening. Oh how my heart aches for the loss of such a wonderful man. He has been a very great influence in my life. Since the time I was a little girl, I have known President Hinckley as a prophet. He was called to be the Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was 12 years old, and has wrought many miracles since he as been the President. He taught me the importance of temples, and inspired me to be a better person. I take comfort that he is with his sweet wife now, but am so sad that he has passed away. Cole and I were talking about this a few minutes ago- and we still know that the church is in wonderful hands, but President Hinckley will be sorely missed by all that knew- or knew of him. I love President Hinckley, and his presence will be missed.
HAPPY DAY!!!
My mother really wanted me to post some videos of the boys, so here goes! Sorry, the lighting was bad on the second one!
Last post was a sad day, this one is a HAPPY DAY because Cole and I purchased a new camera! Such a bummer to have to do so, but we are enjoying the new camera now, and since our boys are growing up right before our eyes, we figured we had better start documenting it! So here are some updated pictures of what we have been doing. There have been lots of things, so bear with my randomness!!!
Lincoln thinks it is SO awesome to sit in Paytons bouncer! He is so funny.
Here's my little bear before our walk outside in the frigid cold weather!

So this is Lincolns new favorite thing to do! We are going to start potty training him soon, I think- but he LOVES to go to the bathroom on his little potty! So here he is just chillin' readin a book- goin to the bathroom.
He loves to wear my hat. What a dude!
This is Lincolns best little buddy Calvin. Every night in his prayers- or rather every prayer that he says- he thanks Heavenly Father for Calvin and Lindsay and John (Calvins parents) He is so dang cute! Anyways, they have their rows, but for the most part, they love each other!
Getting ready to go for a walk in our NEWLY PURCHASED Double jogger-purchased off of Craigs list! ( Best thing ever!) Both Craigslist and the stroller that is!:)

Sad Day...:(
Well- it's a sad day. Cole and I officially cannot find our CAMERA! How sad is that! So that is why there have been no pictures of the little squirts for a while. I am shopping around for a new digital camera, so if anyone knows of any deals, PLEASE let me know! Until then, we will just be posting pictures from off of my phone...which aren't that good! I am going to try and post a movie of Payton smiling-Oh! It worked! Not the best resolution, but it will have to do! This little smile melts my HEART! What a stud.
