Saddest Day in LIFE!!

So one of my very bestest friends- Lindsay (and of course her family) are MOVING away from us! I guess they have to go where Jon has a job, but can't she just commute? It really isn't THAT far to Chicago! :) Anyways, we had a little get together with a few friends here in Denver to say farewell to them, and we had a great time! I really am going to miss Lindsay. She is the kindest, dearest, most thoughtful person ever, and she is the glue that holds us all together! Hopefully we'll survive when they leave. I don't know how we are going to, but we might have to figure something out! Anyways, we are so happy for them for getting to start fresh, and have a new fun time in Chicago, but Moss's, you will be SORELY missed! We love you!

Lincoln and Calvin are seriously BEST BUDS! They fight like brothers, and sometimes can't stand each other, but constantly remind each other that they DO love each other! Lincoln isn't going to know what to do!

Just a small portion of the kids that were there playing in the playroom! It was so funny! We thought they were being SO LOUD, but one of the little kids came out to me and asked me if they could shut the doors to the playroom because all the big people were being TOO loud for them! :) Apparently, I was mistaken! So cute!

Linds and I...one of the times we weren't crying and bawling our eyes out! I do that every now and then. Thanks Nelson Genes! :)

Here is the group of girls...well almost all of us! We are missing a few. But this is the group that we always hang out with. Playgroup, zoo, bookclub, craftnight, you name it! We like a good excuse to all get together and "cluck like hens" as Cole would say!

We LOVE you Moss family, and can't believe how much we'll miss you! Chicago here we COME to visit! Yeah for visits!

MOTORCYCLE HATS!!!

So I have a rare few hours to myself because BOTH of my children are down for naps! YEAH! I say rare because Lincoln doesn't usually take a nap, and sometimes Payton decides that he doesn't need one either. I wish that someone would force me to take a nap! they don't know how good they have it! Anyways, Lincoln's new wake up time for the morning is 5:30 in the MORNING! You heard me...5:30! The sun isn't even THINKING about being up by then, but what can you do! So he need a nap now. Cute little stink bug. Anyways, so I have a few minutes to blog because of the extra time, and we finally got a charger for our camera, so here are a few pictures of what we have been doing lately!
I got these buckets for like a dollar at Walmart for the kids easter baskets this year, and the boys like to wear them as their "motorcycle hats"! I don't know where it comes from, but they think it is SO fun to wear these like little soldiers, and run around the house making motorcycle sounds! It so fun to watch them. As you can imagine, they are pretty loud whilst doing this activity- which is rare around our house! Oh WAIT...it's the opposite! It's NEVER quiet around here! What can you do. Anyways, here's my little motorcycle dudes...

SNOW FORT!

I gotta say...Cole might be the COOLEST Dad around! He is always doing something fun with the boys, and today it was building a snowfort! This is what we did instead of go to the rest of church- which was canceled for us in lieu of the snow storm that we had today! It was pretty bad, but not enough to warrant cancelization (even a word? It's a good one anyways!) of church, but what can you do! We'll take an afternoon of being together for sure! Anyways, here are some pictures of the big guy hiding in the snow fort inbetween Mom-launched bombs that never hit anything because of the wonderfulness that was the snowfort.

Here's to 60 degree weather by the end of the week! Yeah for Denver weather!

Halloween was HOW many days ago??

Well- so I'm not the fastest! I think 4 days after is pretty dang good! We had a GREAT Halloween this year! For WEEKS the boys have been telling me that they wanted to be Thomas and Percy for Halloween, so of course, Halloween DAY, I made their costumes! Not professional by any means, and Paytons fell off of him when we went trick or treating, but what can you do! They loved them, and had a great time! I had a great time making them. Cole and I were going to be Sir Topham and Lady Hat, but that got thrown by the wayside. Maybe next year!
We had a GREAT time at the ward trunk-or-treat. It was on Halloween, so the kids were in HEAVEN! Payton for SURE, because this kid could eat candy all day! (Although he did get sick and throw up- I am thinking as a result of all of the sugar he has consumed:)) They were loving running around and asking people for candy. Really weird holiday if you ask me, but whatever!

Link concentrating on a VERY important game of Halloween BINGO- which he WON by the way!

The Elders Quorum was in charge of the Balloon Pop again this year, and Lincoln and Payton were NOT into getting theirs popped! TOO SCARY! So- we watched from the sidelines and ate suckers instead!

Yeah for Grandma's and Grandpas!

So my wonderful parents were able to come and spend a few short days with us here in Denver, and BOY did we have a grand old time! Of course, they came in last Wednesday- the first day of the MAJOR snow storm here (altogether yielding about 17 inches of snow in our back yard by the time all was said and done) but they had no problems landing, and we got home in time to stay inside for the rest of the evening! The boys were in HEAVEN with Grandpa Dick and Grandma B- because they played with them the ENTIRE TIME!! Seriously, they were in heaven. Of course, they brought fun toys, treats and candy to consume/play with, and that occupied much of our time. We didn't want to go out much because of the terrible weather, but we did sneak over to the Cherry Creek mall here in Denver and played at the "Breakfast Foods" for a little while! This is one of the kids favorite places to go so it was fun to take Grandma and Grandpa there to witness the enormity of fun we have here:) We were able to go to the Cheesecake factory- which I haven't been to in WAY too long- and just be together most of the time.

My own little devils!

Gettin ready to get our shoes shined! MUSH Grandpa!!!

Bacon action shot! SWEET!

Banana Slice action shot! NICE AIR!

If you will notice the toy elephant in Payton's hand- he would NOT let go of it the whole time! Silly boy! He was running around making elephant noises the whole time! :)

But of COURSE, the funnest thing that we did while they were here was to CARVE our Halloween pumpkins! These were not just any Halloween pumpkins- we GREW these babies in our GARDEN! Yes, I do feel accomplished! Mostly because the big fat squirrels weren't able to devour these like they did just about everyone else's here in Denver! Payton REALLY dug digging into these babies, but Lincoln was more interested in his new car...but had fun anyways! Here are the masterpieces!

Cole and Brenda in DEEP concentration working on their little monster.

Lincoln's form of entertainment for the night.

The carvin crew

Ooohhh...what's this?!?

YUCKY! But still REALLY COOL!

Seriously? What IS that stuff??

The finished projects. My Dad and I's is the Bandito bad guy! Notice the 'stache. I LOVE the little monster! SO CUTE!

Thanks for coming Mom and Dad! We CAN'T WAIT for when you come to see the baby girl in January! YEAH!

WHERE'S MY SON!!!!

WHAT!! I went into Lincoln's room the other night right before I went to bed, and I couldn't see him in his bed! I got a little nervous, until I looked around the room and found this...

He had made himself what he calls a "Sleeping bag" on the floor! Silly boy! So since then, he has been obsessed with making sleeping bags on the floor to sleep on. I can't blame the guy, because when I was younger, my sister Courtney and I used to take our comforters, roll up the corners on them to make a little litter type thing- and we would sleep the night in our "cat beds"! Psycho I know, but we still talk about those little cat beds!

So you go Lincoln! Sleep in your sleeping bag! Cole, Lincoln and Payton made a fort tonight in Lincolns room with a blanket just draped over a few things in Lincolns room, and we just found him snuggled up in the blanket that is still draped over things! Wow- I would DIE trying to sleep like that! Whatever dude!

DANG DANG DANG!!!!!!

Well, it has happened. The Rockies LOST. OH so sad. Cole and I were actually talking earlier today, and I was sad that I wasn't able to go to more than one game this year! I LOVE to watch baseball- on t.v. yes- alright, but in PERSON! Wow, that's fun for me! Then, Cole sent me a text earlier and asked if I wanted to GO TONIGHT!! HECK YES!! So, we bundled the kids up, and with tickets received from Cole's work, we were able to go to the game! The game was actually quite boring for the most part, but the boys had fun, and so did we. Sadly, we had to leave early because Cole had to be at the school for some tutoring he had to do, so we left at the top of the 8th inning. WHAT!! The whole excitement started then! The Rockies came back in the bottom of the 8th and pulled ahead 4-2, but then lost the lead again in the top of the 9th to go down 5-4, and then blew it in the end. :( BOO HISS! So sad, but what can you do. We enjoyed it anyways, and can't wait until next year when we can enjoy the Rockies some more! GO ROCKIES!! (Next year maybe)

Taste of Colorado-YUMMY!!

So on-oh I can't remember when it was- I think it must have been labor day (wow-sorry! Mom brain!)...we went with our friends the Wesslers to the Taste of Colorado here in Downtown Denver. It is kind of like the fair- but TONS of mostly Colorado restaurants come and set up booths with all of their different types of foods in it and you can purchase anything you want! This is actually what Cole and I were able to do the first weekend that we moved out here 2 years ago! So it was fun to reminisce and go with some fun friends! The boys didn't have the greatest of times, because it was WAY hot, but they were troopers. We got to go in the bouncy slide thingy (that's the technical name for it) and we even got a SMOOTHIE!! (Lincoln's choice) It was really fun to see all the different restaurants that Denver has to offer, and realized that we really don't get out much! Someday!! Anyways, we had a great time! Thanks Wesslers for the invite! We had so much fun.

Steph and I- She is the bomb!

The fam just before we left...notice Payton DOWNING his smoothie! He was SO thirsty, and we were totally out of the 3 huge waterbottles that we brought! Like I said...hot day!

Oh sad! You can't really see this, but Lincoln's pants were totally falling down on the way back to the train! It was so cute. :) He was so tired, and actually fell asleep not a few minutes later on Cole's head.
